THE SHORTEST VERSE IN THE BIBLE IS FOUND IN JOHN 11:35— “JESUS WEPT.”
It is also, to me, one of the most mind blowing verses in the Bible.
Think about it. Jesus weeping, not just crying! Isn’t Jesus supposed to be strong and powerful?
The background of this is that Jesus has just returned to the village of Bethany. His friend, Lazarus, has just died four days earlier and there was intense mourning by his burial place within the tomb he was in. Jesus stood and He heard the people cries of pain and loss, He saw the tears falling from their eyes. Jesus felt the pain around Him, and He wept….I think this relates so society so much today. I feel like we are taught not to show our true feelings— just push them aside. Especially boys. There is also a crazy, insane thought going around that it is not ok to cry!? What! Some people have said that is not ok to cry because it is showing God doubt that we don’t trust Him. But look! Jesus Wept. If He needs to cry, maybe you and i need a good cry too!

Let God handle the things that hinders our relationship with Him. Let Him be your strength through hard times. Go back to the source when you’re feeling down. Tell Him the things that holds you back. Doing these things can help you a lot. Not only will it strengthen your relationship with Him, but also it will make you a better person, a better Christian. :)
INTENSIFIED WEEK 2011 (December 26-30, 2011)
YOUTH ALIVE: REFLECTORS OF CHRIST’S KINGDOM. Matthew 16:18-19.
Last week, we had a camp. Obviously. Haha. 5 days and 4 nights of praising and worshiping and loving and glorifying the Lord! Full of games and activities. Who said Christians can’t have fun? This is more than fun!
Before getting at our destination, I’ve been thinking that 5 days is too much. That it’s too long. But after the experience, I want more. Why? I will share some of the lessons that I learned.
- Faith without action is dead. You can not just pray. You have to do your part well.
- Wisdom of God is far better than the wisdom of man. Ask God for help. Seek for Him. He will give you the right answer at the right time.
- Never back down. Never give up. God anointed you to be victorious because you’re on the winning side. Do not be weak for He is your strength.
- You cannot lead without caring. You shouldn’t let your fellow Christian back out. Do not bring him or her down. Care for them. Value people.
- Be thankful in EVERYTHING.
- Seek God, ANYTIME.
- Hold on to God, have faith. Increase it. Do not let the enemy overcome you.
- Live a life of prayer. In any times, pray. Intercede. The enemy hates it.
Those are just some. There’s a lot more. Never did I imagine that I will experience this, but God made it happen and I am thankful. There are lots and lots of revelations, and realizations. God’s plans are truly amazing! Words can not describe it! Thank you, Lord for this, for providing and for bringing me where I am today! :)
